Duotone Unit Wing foil SLS Maroon - Sand

The 2026 Unit SLS features enhanced balance across all wind angles and speeds, greater power generation with a direct and intuitive on/off feel, and improved drift stability and steering on the wave for better manoeuvrability.
The performance of both models lies between the original model and the D/LAB, ensuring lightweight responsiveness and agility for all riders. The Aluula Gold L1 panel used in both models provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, contributing to lightness and direct response. Fusion Boom and handle options allow for easy adaptation to individual riding styles.
Featuring reduced profile depth in the centre and increased profile at the quarter-span points, the design optimises sheeting angles across the entire wing—resulting in instant power, enhanced on/off responsiveness, improved top-end performance, and better riding angles.
The compact outline across the whole range enhances manoeuvrability, allowing riders to navigate various conditions with confidence. You'll also notice the new, broader and stiffer leading-edge handle design, which offers precise steering behaviour while surfing. Additionally, the deeper canopy at the quarter-span stabilises luffing and provides neutral to slightly positive lift, resulting in a light, balanced feel during manoeuvres.
The Unit SLS Concept Blue focuses on environmental responsibility, incorporating eco-friendly features like a bio-based bladder that reduces the carbon footprint by 29% and the use of at least 50% post-industrial recycled materials in its construction. This commitment to sustainability ensures top performance while minimising environmental impact.
Both wings feature the MOD3 S canopy, delivering direct power, strength, and durability for optimal performance in all wind conditions. Available in sizes from 2.0 to 6.5. Reach new heights with the Unit SLS and SLS Concept Blue—where cutting-edge design meets outstanding performance in every ride.

2026 Unit: SLS vs Standard (what you’ll feel)

Frame & materials

  • SLS: PentaTX/Penta Dacron (≈130 g) frame with an Aluula center LE/strut panel → stiffer, lighter, crisper pump and tighter draft lock.

  • Standard: Conventional ≈160 g Dacron frame → a touch heavier/softer feel, more budget-friendly and durable.

Canopy

  • Both 2026 models: new MOD3 S canopy for higher stretch resistance and steadier power delivery.

Shape & handling (shared 2026 tweaks)

  • Re-profiled draft: deepest profile moved off the center toward the quarter-span → smoother sheeting, more consistent power across angles.

  • Slimmer LE (aero clean-up) → easier acceleration/upwind.

  • Handles / boom: updated rigid Fusion handles (and Fusion boom option) with a longer front grip for one-handed wave control. Retailers report most wings go out with the boom.

On-water differences

  • SLS: snappier pump, more “locked” draft at speed, slightly better upwind and low-drag feel; livelier in tacks and transitions; better drift stability from the stiffer frame.

  • Standard: still a solid, all-round freeride/wave wing with smooth power and good drift at a friendlier price/robustness; just not as crisp or feather-light as SLS.

How the 2026 Units differ from 2025

Global feel

  • 2026s are smoother and more balanced with notably better drift and wave steering vs 2025, thanks to the new draft placement and small dihedral/LE tweaks.

Wave behavior

  • Reports highlight reduced dihedral vs 2025 → more float/stability flagged-out, especially in waves.

Upwind / efficiency

  • 2025 SLS already stepped up upwind; 2026 adds aero refinements (slimmer LE) and canopy control, so it stays composed over a wider sheeting range.

Controls

  • 2026 brings the refined Fusion handles / boom ecosystem; shops note very high uptake of the Fusion boom on 2026. (2025 introduced Fusion boom/handles but fixings and ergonomics are further dialed for 2026.)

Construction options

  • SLS vs standard split remains; SLS keeps the premium materials edge (PentaTX + Aluula center) over standard Dacron. 2026 continues the Concept Blue sustainability option within SLS spec in some markets

Duotone Unit Wing Foil SLS 2026

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the Duotone Unit SLS 2026?
A: The latest evolution of Duotone’s much-loved Unit wing, the 2026 SLS (Super Light Super Strong) version delivers outstanding stiffness, lightweight handling, and refined power control. The new Maroon Sand colourway pairs premium performance with distinctive style for riders who demand the best from their foil wing.

Q: What’s new for 2026?
A: Duotone has refined the Unit’s design for a smoother, more balanced ride and improved drift when flagged out. The leading edge is slimmer and more aerodynamic, and the canopy profile has been adjusted so the draft sits slightly off-centre—giving steadier power delivery, easier pumping, and better control through gusts. Small dihedral tweaks make it even more stable while surfing or carving.

Q: How does the SLS construction differ from the standard Unit?
A:

  • The SLS uses an ultra-stiff PentaTX/Penta Dacron frame combined with an Aluula-reinforced centre section, cutting weight and flex for crisp, precise response.

  • The standard Unit uses traditional Dacron—strong and slightly softer, with a more forgiving, value-focused feel.
If you want maximum efficiency, faster response, and a “locked-in” wing profile that keeps its shape under load, the SLS is the one to have.

Q: How does it feel on the water?
A: The Unit SLS 2026 feels lighter in your hands and more reactive through tacks and transitions. It pumps quickly onto the foil, locks into upwind angles, and drifts neutrally when flagged out on a wave. You’ll notice a tighter, more connected feel with minimal flutter and a very clean power delivery.

Q: What about control and setup?
A: The 2026 Duotone Unit continues with the Fusion handle and boom system. Choose between rigid ergonomic handles for direct feedback or the Fusion boom for one-handed control, freestyle tricks, and precise trim adjustments. Both options mount easily, letting you customise your setup for any riding style.

Q: Is it eco-friendly?
A: Yes — Duotone’s Concept Blue initiative brings sustainability into high-performance wings. The SLS uses a bio-based bladder and 50 % recycled content in key materials, reducing environmental impact while maintaining top-tier strength and feel.

Q: Who is this wing for?
A: The Unit SLS 2026 suits riders from ambitious intermediates to seasoned pros who value lightness, stiffness, and smooth handling. It excels in freeride and wave-foil conditions, delivering both low-end power and effortless drift when depowered.

Q: Why choose the Duotone Unit SLS 2026?
A:

  • Super-light, ultra-stiff frame for precise handling

  • Refined canopy and LE shape for better balance and drift

  • Fusion handle or boom compatibility for flexible control

  • Excellent upwind and pumping performance

  • Concept Blue materials for reduced environmental footprint

  • Stylish finish with premium Duotone build quality
