We aimed to improve the performance of our Carve wings with the new Aero foil Carve 2.0.
The focus was on more glide and speed, with less drag and strong control at high speeds.
We started from scratch and changed key design parameters across the range.
That included the aspect ratio, outline, curvature, profiles, and twist.
Each size has been tuned for its intended use.
The 1430 is larger and has the lowest aspect ratio and thinnest profile.
This helps maximise manoeuvrability and reduce drag.
By contrast, our 850 has the highest aspect ratio and thickest profile.
That improves lift and helps delay the stall on a small wing.
The Carve 2.0 is ideal for tackling "real waves".
It does not glide as well as the Free or the Glide.
However, it offers higher top-end speed and much better manoeuvrability on the wave face.
The Carve 2.0 is also the top choice of our freestyle team on the world tour.
These wings let them load up for jumps faster and create a more explosive pop.
The medium aspect ratio also makes hard landings less stressful for the rest of their gear.
