Stand Up Paddle Boards

Every paddle board we sell comes as a complete inflatable package — board, paddle, pump, fins and a bag to carry it all in. Prices run from £279 to £449, UK delivery is free over £50, and you're welcome to come and stand on one in our Whitstable shop before you commit.

How wide should your board be?

Width does more for stability than length does, and it's the one spec worth getting right first time.

A 32-inch board is the standard all-round size. Stable enough to learn on, but with enough glide to stay interesting once you're confident. The Sandbanks Ultimate Turquoise (10'6" x 32" x 4.75") is a good example, and at £279 it's our lowest-priced package.

A 34-inch board is noticeably more solid underfoot. Worth the extra width if you're a heavier rider, or if you'd simply rather not swim on your first outing. The Sandbanks Cruiser Pro (11' x 34" x 6") is built with exactly that in mind — Sandbanks describe it as being for cautious beginners and bigger riders.

If you're torn between the two, go wider. A board that feels solid gets used. A twitchy one stays in the cupboard.

What's in the package?

There's nothing else to buy before your first paddle. Every board on this page is supplied with a paddle, a pump, fins and a carry bag or backpack. Contents and warranty terms differ between models — each product page lists exactly what's included with that board.

Inflatable or hard board?

We stock inflatables, and for most people that's the right choice. They roll down into a backpack, store in a cupboard rather than a garage, handle being dragged over shingle better than a hard board does, and fit in any car. Hard boards glide a little better and turn more sharply, but you need somewhere to keep one and a way to get it to the water.

We're on Beach Walk in Whitstable, a couple of minutes from the water. Come in, stand on a board, and ask us anything — we'd rather spend ten minutes getting you on the right board than sell you the wrong one.
